Chapter 2 - The Tactical Audit

The heavy iron door of the master study clicked shut, the silence of the room a stark contrast to the chaos in the foyer.

I sat behind my mahogany desk, my fingers flying across the laptop keyboard as I accessed the secure surveillance ledger.

The digital files from the past eight months began to download, revealing a systematic matrix of abuse that turned my blood to liquid nitrogen.

Vanessa hadn't just been cruel on this rainy afternoon; she had spent the entire duration of my Saudi assignment executing a dark corporate strategy.

The cameras recorded her standing over my mother’s bed at three in the morning, forcing her to sign legal asset transfer documents.

She had been systematically draining my mother's private estate fund—over four million dollars—to finance a shell company in Panama.

And the primary beneficiary listed on that offshore corporate registry was her high-society lover, Julian Vance.

They had planned to declare my mother mentally incompetent before my return, ensuring the legal control of the family holdings would shift to Vanessa.

"Karim, please, let’s be reasonable about this," Vanessa’s voice came through the door, her old confidence trying to fight through the panic.

She had followed me up the grand staircase, her emerald dress rustling against the wood as she knocked softly on the panel.

"Your mother is confused, the data you're looking at has been manipulated by that treacherous maid to frame me."

I didn't answer her with words; I simply pressed the biometric command key on my console, initiating a total asset freeze on all joint accounts.

Within less than three seconds, her personal smartphone in the hallway began to buzz frantically with a dozen automated banking alerts.

The credit lines, the luxury spending accounts, and the offshore investment cards bearing her name were completely terminated.

The door flew open as my legal counsel, Sarah, entered the study accompanied by two senior detectives from the fraud division.

"The warrants have been fully signed by the state magistrate, Karim," Sarah announced, handing me the formal divorce petition.

"We have the physical tracking files, the bank routing numbers, and the irrefutable video proof of the physical assault."

Vanessa stood in the hallway, her hands shaking violently as she stared at the gold badges of the law enforcement officers.

"You can't do this to me, Karim!" she screamed, her voice rising into a crazed, high-pitched shriek of a cornered animal.

"My family owns the development group that funds your engineering firm! I will ruin your standing in the corporate world!"

"The development group was bought out by my partners in Riyadh yesterday morning, Vanessa," I said, my voice dead and flat.

"You don't own the firm, you don't own this house, and you certainly don't own my family's legacy anymore."

The detectives moved in smoothly, the heavy metallic click of the handcuffs closing around her wrists ending her reign of terror.

She was led down the stairs in front of the estate staff, her designer heels scraping loudly against the pristine marble she had stained with violence.
