Chapter 6 - The Forensic Truth Revealed

The family court room the following Monday was entirely private, the high ceilings catching the clean, rhythmic ticks of the wall clock.

Patricia sat at the defense table, her pearls looking entirely ridiculous next to the corporate fraud forms her attorneys were trying desperately to mitigate.

The judge, a veteran family law magistrate named Evelyn Vance, didn't look at Trent’s legal team for long.

She looked at the decentralized medical logs that my attorneys had projected onto the large courtroom displays.

The files verified beyond a shadow of a doubt that the embryos transferred on the fourteenth were genetically matched to Trent Preston, completely exposing the vasectomy narrative as a calculated lie designed to avoid the post-nuptial asset distribution clause.

"Mr. Preston," Judge Vance said, her voice cutting through the quiet room like a steel scalpel.

"You didn't just commit a breach of marital trust; you used a medical fabrication to systematically attempt the financial exploitation of a pregnant woman."

The court granted a permanent, unappealable divorce decree that awarded me the entire Bellevue property, the corporate licenses, and full custody of our unborn child with zero visitation allocation for the Preston family.

Trent’s personal bank balances were ordered into a state-supervised receivership to pay off the remaining construction liens, leaving him entirely bankrupt before the sun went down.

The story he had built to make himself the victim had officially become the iron cage that would hold him for the next five years.
