Chapter 4 - THE BOARDROOM COUP

The early morning sun of Monday did nothing to warm the frosted glass panels of Vance Infrastructure’s central corporate headquarters.

Julian Vance sat in his high-backed leather chair, his custom-tailored suit looking wrinkled, his fingers frantically typing codes into his administrative terminal.

At exactly 9:00 AM, the international markets opened, and within forty-two seconds, the company's primary operating line of credit began a historic descent.

The security walls had been permanently locked down by an emergency treasury order, systematically freezing every asset associated with the Vance network.

The double doors of his executive suite were violently pushed open, and I walked through the threshold, my posture perfectly rigid, my face dead and calm.

Behind me walked Arthur, flanked by six armed federal marshals whose gold badges gleamed brilliantly under the blinding LED chandeliers.

"Austin!" Julian barked, trying to force his smooth, entitled arrogance into his voice as he stood up from the mahogany desk.

"You have no legal right to breach my private offices; my family has operated this logistics firm for three generations!"

"Your family operated on a mountain of stolen capital, Julian," I said, placing the certified federal seizure warrants directly onto his desk.

"The four hundred thousand dollars Brianna siphoned from my son's trust was used as fraudulent collateral to secure your construction bonds."

"And under Section Fourteen of the Federal Anti-Coercion Act, any asset purchased with stolen trust reserves immediately reverts to the primary victim."

"The marshals are here to complete the physical inventory extraction of this entire facility," I added, looking at him with unyielding eyes.

"And your watch isn't the only thing you're going to leave behind today."
