Part 3: The Document Discrepancy

The confrontation inside my foyer grew suffocatingly cold as the legal metrics settled over Daniel’s remaining arrogance.
He looked at Marcus, then looked back at my calm expression, his chest heaving with rapid, uneven breaths.
“This is an absolute farce,” Daniel whispered, his fingers clutching his car keys so tightly his knuckles turned white.
“My logistics firm holds a primary utility easement backed by the family nameplate. You can’t freeze that capital.”
“The family nameplate belongs to your mother’s estate, Daniel,” Marcus explained, opening the folder layout.
“And the forensic screen we completed at 2:00 a.m. today proved your business was already operating in a deficit.”
The digital tablet display lit up instantly, showing forty pages of unredacted transaction summaries from a shell company.
It wasn't a record of standard corporate spending or regular family emergencies disguised as business expenses.
It was a live tracking stream showing Daniel routing my mortgage assistance funds to an offshore account in Panama.
An account that was registered solely under Claire’s maiden nameplate to shield her parents' failed development firm.
“You didn't just tell your children I was the wrong house last night, Daniel,” I said, stepping closer to him.
“You used my cloned digital signature key to secure an unauthorized extension on your luxury vehicle lease.”
Daniel’s jaw dropped, his eyes widening into disks of pure, desperate terror as the red data bars updated.

He realized that his entire high-society lifestyle in Maplewood was built on a foundation of systematic identity fraud.
“Mom, please,” he begged, dropping his phone onto the table. “Claire’s parents were watching. I had to look powerful.”
