PART 1: THE ACCUSATION

The silence in the garden was deafening.

Leo held the microphone firmly, his eyes fixed on Valerie.

"You’re the thief who stole Mommy’s jewelry!" he declared.

The words hung in the air like a death sentence.

Valerie’s face drained of color, her smug smile vanishing instantly.

Marco stood frozen, his eyes widening in pure shock.

"Leo, that's not true," he stammered, his confidence crumbling.

"It’s just a misunderstanding, honey."

I stepped forward, my heart racing with a mix of fury and vindication.

"Is it, Marco?" I asked, my voice cutting through the tension.

"Or is my son telling the truth that you were too blind to see?"

Valerie scrambled to her feet, her red dress rustling against the grass.

"He's a child! He doesn't know what he's talking about!" she shrieked.

Her voice cracked, the mask of the 'real mother' slipping away.

"He knows exactly what he saw," I said, stepping between them.

"He was the one who saw you hiding the diamonds in your bag."

"The same diamonds you claimed were 'misplaced' by the staff."

The guests were no longer whispering.

They were staring in absolute horror.

"I have the security footage, Marco," I continued.

"I have the police report from when I fired her."

Marco’s face contorted into a mask of pure rage.

"You knew?" he roared at me.

"You kept this a secret?"

"I kept it until I could prove it," I replied coldly.

Valerie tried to bolt, but two security guards stepped into her path.

"Don't let her leave!" I commanded.

"She has enough stolen property in her possession to ensure she never sees daylight."

Valerie began to sob, a pathetic, desperate sound that echoed through the garden.

"Marco, help me! You said you’d protect me!"

Marco looked at her, then at the guests, then at me.

He knew he was finished.

"This is over," I said, gesturing to the police officers entering the gates.

"The party is officially canceled."

"And Marco, you are next."

As the officers reached us, the world seemed to hold its breath.

Marco turned to run, but he was trapped.

I looked at my son, who stood tall, his little hands clenched in fists.

He had saved me.

But as I looked at Marco’s face, I knew this wasn't just a divorce.

It was a war.

He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small, black notebook.

"If I go down," he hissed, his voice filled with venom, "you lose everything."

"You think you’re so smart, Andrea?"

"Let’s see how smart you are when you find out what I’ve really been doing with your brand’s money."

My stomach turned.

He hadn't just been cheating with a thief.

May you like

He had been embezzling the entire fortune I had built.

Everything I had ever worked for was gone.
