PART 3: THE HIGH-SOCIETY FORFEITURE

Three weeks after the ultrasound confrontation, the grand, mahogany-lined boardroom of Miller Logistics was a scene of clinical corporate execution. The twelve members of the executive compliance board sat in silence around the glass table, their faces tight as they reviewed the forensic wire transfer records Marcus’s team had compiled.

At the end of the table sat Oliver’s mother, wearing a navy-blue dress and her signature pearl necklace. Her hand was clutching her throat as she stared at the federal marshals standing by the doors.

"This is a private family matter," she whispered defensively, her voice shaking under the harsh fluorescent lights. "My son made a financial miscalculation, but the Vance patents belong to the Harper name."

"The patents were registered under my personal identity before the marriage, Helen," I said, walking into the room with absolute, aristocratic poise, my blue dress replaced by a sharp, tailored ivory blazer. "Your son didn't just commit marital fraud; he used a forged corporate notary token to attempt a hostile acquisition of my father's global shipping network."

Marcus Vance dropped a heavy leather binder onto the center of the glass table. "The transaction logs show that the wire transfers used to fund Bethany’s apartment were routed through a Swiss shell company controlled by Helen Harper’s personal estate. This isn't a divorce asset dispute, Your Honors. This is an active criminal conspiracy to obstruct a federal restitution order."

The compliance directors didn't hesitate. Within ten minutes, every single board member had signed the emergency resignation waivers, desperately trying to distance themselves from the collapse of the Harper dynasty.

Oliver stood in the corner, his grey work shirt replaced by a cheap suit, his face pale as the lead marshal pulled steel handcuffs from his utility belt. "Cheryl, think of the babies... they need a father."

"They will have a mother who doesn't run from the truth," I said, turning my back on him as the handcuffs clicked into place. "Enjoy your seven years in the federal holding facility, Oliver."
