Part 2: The Liquidation of Morrison Group

The silence that followed the marshal's announcement was heavier than the thunderstorm outside. Brendan stood completely paralyzed, his mouth slightly agape as his eyes darted from the armed marshals to my calm, unyielding posture. Diane’s hand trembled so violently that her wine glass shattered against the mahogany table, dark red liquid spreading across the white linen.

"Chairman?" Jessica stammered, her high-pitched, manicured confidence completely evaporating. "Brendan, what is this man talking about? Tell your guards to throw these people out!"

The security guards standing in the doorway didn't move an inch to help her. They stood at strict attention, bowing their heads as Arthur—the Executive Vice President of Legal—entered the room carrying a black leather corporate portfolio stamped with the official seal of M-Luxe International Holdings.

"The guards don't answer to your family anymore, Jessica," I said, my voice deadpan and flat as I stood up from the folding chair. The wet emerald dress clung heavily to my skin, but my posture carried the absolute authority of a billionaire executive. "They answer to the parent corporation. A corporation that I founded and solely own."

To this family, I had been Cassidy the penniless orphan, a woman Brendan had married out of 'charity' and discarded the moment he secured a vice-presidency. They genuinely believed that the luxury vehicles in the driveway, the corporate accounts, and this very estate were funded by Brendan’s architectural genius.

They had never bothered to look at the master trust agreements. They never researched who owned Aegis Venture Capital, the primary institutional creditor that had quietly funded ninety-four percent of the Morrison family's commercial growth over the past five years.

"You signed the corporate liability waivers during our divorce settlement six months ago, Brendan," I said, stepping closer to the table. "You were so eager to push me out and sign your new executive contract that you didn't even bother to read the secondary asset liquidation footnotes."

Arthur popped the brass latches on his portfolio, sliding three certified court orders onto the glass table, right next to the spilled wine and the dripping water.

"Effective at 8:45 PM tonight, Protocol 7 has been officially authorized by the Board of Directors," Arthur announced, his voice echoing off the high ceilings. "Brendan Morrison is stripped of his title, his executive access, and his corporate salary due to gross personal misconduct and the hidden concealment of marital holdings. Furthermore, the commercial line of credit to the Morrison Group has been terminated. As of this exact minute, your firm is entirely bankrupt."
