PART 3: THE BOARDROOM RESTITUTION

PART 3: THE BOARDROOM RESTITUTION

At exactly 9:00 AM on Friday, the grand, mahogany-lined boardroom of Vanguard Trust was entirely silent. The twelve senior members of the compliance board sat around the long glass table, their faces tight as they analyzed the corporate fraud records Marcus’s team had distributed.

At the head of the table sat Wyatt Brennan, dressed in a sharp navy suit jacket, though his face was pale and haggard from a week of financial strangulation. Beside him sat Ashley Vale, wearing a green silk dress, her manicured fingers twisting a gold pen with a manic, nervous velocity.

"This is an administrative misunderstanding, gentlemen," Wyatt said, his voice carrying a hollow, desperate version of the charisma he had used to deceive Addison for three years. "My wife is currently dealing with a medical crisis, and I was simply managing the trust allocations to protect our domestic liquidity."

The heavy double doors of the boardroom were suddenly thrown open.

Addison walked in, her posture perfectly rigid, her heels clicking sharply against the polished marble floor. She didn't look at the empty space where her trust had been; she walked straight to the plaintiff’s podium, flanked by Marcus Vance and two federal marshals from the white-collar crime division.

Wyatt stood up violently, his chair sliding back against the panoramic glass window. "Addison... what are you doing here? You should be resting at the penthouse. We can settle the family accounts at home."

"The penthouse has been sold, Wyatt," Addison announced, her voice slicing through the room like an axe. "And you don't have a home anymore."

Marcus opened his digital briefcase, uploading the raw transaction files directly to the central boardroom screens. The monitors instantly displayed the precise digital signatures showing that Wyatt and Ashley had forged Addison’s corporate consent watermarks to execute the asset migration on the very morning she collapsed at work.

"Every single vote used to authorize the bond transfer was an act of deliberate, coordinated federal wire fraud," Addison stated, her eyes locking onto her husband’s with an icy, intellectual dominance. "The data has already been verified by the Securities and Exchange Commission. The Sterling merger you were trying to finance with my family's capital has been permanently frozen by judicial order."

Ashley Vale let out a sharp, broken gasp, dropping her gold pen onto the table as she looked at the federal marshals stepping past the threshold. "Wyatt! You told me she signed the waivers! You told me she wouldn't look at the accounts!"

The lead marshal stepped forward, pulling heavy steel handcuffs from his utility belt and walking straight toward Wyatt. "Wyatt Brennan, you are under arrest for corporate identity theft, interstate wire fraud, and grand larceny. Hands behind your back."

Addison stood perfectly still as her husband was forced down onto the mahogany table, his face pressed against the forged contracts as the handcuffs clicked into place. She didn't look back as the security team began escorting Ashley and the remaining corrupt directors out of the room. The balance had been restored.
