Chapter 5 - THE COURTROOM SIEGE
The grand courtroom of the Southern District of New York was a breathtaking, suffocating monument to justice, the air smelling of polished mahogany and old paper.
At exactly 10:00 AM, the room was bathed in the crisp, golden light of the skyline, but the atmosphere inside was thick with the scent of an impending execution.
Eighty of our family's wealthiest investment partners, board directors, and high-society associates sat in the high-backed wooden benches, their eyes fixed on the defense table.
Eleanor and Audrey sat in the center of the room, their elegant designer clothes looking like prison uniforms as they clutched their lawyers' sleeves in a sudden display of panic.

The massive projector screens mounted behind the judge’s bench instantly illuminated, displaying the high-definition footage of our nursery.
The eighty guests watched in breathless, paralyzed horror as the recording of my mother striking my wife while my son shrieked in his crib played on a continuous loop.
"My God," the board chairman whispered, standing up from his bench in deep, professional disgust.
"This is monstrous."
"They were systematically poisoning the mother's reputation and holding the infant's legacy hostage to cover their corporate debts."
The medical reports of Sophia's bruises and Leo's pediatric fever logs were displayed next, their findings highlighted in bright red forensic indicators.
The defense attorneys try to argue that the nursery camera was an illegal invasion of privacy, but the judge silenced them with a single, sharp strike of her gavel.
"The surveillance system was installed on a military-secured property by the primary homeowner, and the evidence is fully admissible under federal law," the judge ruled, her eyes locked onto Eleanor with a cold, absolute disgust.
"The defendant’s actions represent the absolute worst of human greed and domestic cruelty."
The jury did not hesitate, returning a unanimous verdict of guilty on all counts of grand larceny, child endangerment, and first-degree assault in less than two hours.
