Chapter 5 - THE BOARDROOM RECLAMATION

The grand executive boardroom of the city's primary real estate registry was silent as a tomb when the final enforcement hearing commenced.

Eleanor sat at the defense table, her green silk blouse looking wrinkled and old under the bright, clinical glare of the LED chandeliers.

Beside her stood Vanessa, her hands clutched tightly in her lap, her face a pale mask of raw, primitive high-society panic.

"This is an absolute farce, Judge!" my mother shouted, her finger pointing aggressively toward where I sat beside Marcus.

"My late husband built that house for me, and my daughter is using a cheap administrative trick to throw her own family on the street!"

"The trick was your son using a forged digital notary stamp to siphon ninety thousand dollars from Chloe's education fund," Marcus announced.

He placed the certified tracking logs on the table, the bold red indicators showing the exact coordinate of every fraudulent transaction.

"We have the physical IP records tracing the banking transfers directly to Julian’s personal computer during the holiday dinner."

"And we have the unedited video from Mrs. Alvarez showing Eleanor Miller demanding cash from a homeless widow at the door."

The judge struck his gavel against the wooden block, the sharp sound echoing like a final sentence through the silent room.

"The corporate fraud is absolute, and the eviction order stands without the possibility of any further civil appeal," the judge declared.
