Chapter 2 - The Silent War

Grayson stared at the document for a full minute.

"This will destroy the company’s reputation," he said.

"It will destroy you," Nora corrected him.

"Unless you fix it."

Grayson leaned back, his face unreadable.

"Cassandra and the board are the ones who signed off on that contract."

"Then remove them," Nora said firmly.

Grayson looked at her with newfound respect.

"You’re dangerous, Nora Bellamy."

"I'm just principled."

Over the next few weeks, Nora didn't just work for Pierce Meridian Group—she infiltrated it.

She was hired as a senior consultant, operating from the shadows while Grayson purged the corrupt elements of his board.

Cassandra Crane tried to fight back, leaking rumors about Nora’s past.

But Nora had anticipated every move.

She used the same forensic accounting skills she had used to build her case to dismantle Cassandra’s reputation.

"You think I'm a risk?" Nora asked Cassandra in the hall one day.

"I’m the only reason you’re not in prison."

Cassandra’s face went pale.

"I have leverage," Cassandra hissed.

"So do I," Nora smiled. "And mine involves the FBI."

The company began to change.

Transparency became the new priority.

But Nora knew that the true enemies were the ones hiding behind the offshore accounts.
