Chapter 5 - THE BOARDROOM EXECUTION

The grand ballroom of the Calloway Plaza was a breathtaking monument to old-money luxury and stolen wealth.
Two hundred of the region's most prominent real estate tycoons and defense contractors raised their crystal glasses, laughing under the chandeliers.
Ryan stood near the center stage, his glass of expensive bourbon catching the light, his smile radiant and completely rehearsed.
"Tonight, as we integrate Silverline Holdings with our European partners, we secure the future of our family's legacy," he announced into the microphone.
"The signature on those deeds constitutes grand larceny, Ryan," a cold, clear voice cut through the high-fidelity speakers.
The heavy bronze doors of the hall were violently thrown open, and I walked through the threshold, my posture rigid and completely unbreakable.
I wore an immaculate, sharp black tailored power suit, my eyes carrying a lethal, crystalline focus as I stepped onto the floor.
Behind me walked Mrs. Parker, followed by six uniformed federal marshals with their gold shields gleaming under the amber lights.
"Claire?" Ryan gasped, the crystal glass slipping from his fingers and shattering loudly against the polished marble floor.

His face turned an pasty shade of wet ash as the marshals surrounded the stage, silencing the entire elite crowd instantly.
"Ryan Calloway, you are officially under arrest for federal bank fraud, identity theft, and the embezzlement of employee trust funds," the lead marshal declared.
