The transition from a quiet, domestic target back into the sovereign chairperson of a multi-billion-dollar infrastructure network was absolute.
My senior corporate attorney, Marcus Vance, stepped forward, placing a thick, state-stamped asset foreclosure order directly onto the table.
"Ethan Vance, your regional commercial credit line has been permanently quarantined by the primary treasury division," Marcus announced clearly.
"Over the past fourteen months, you have been systematically forging your wife's signature to siphon development grants for your failing shipping network."
"You believed her quiet accounting background meant she was entirely blind to the secondary digital ledger entries," he added with cold satisfaction.
"He believed my love was a permanent license to exploit my inheritance," I stated, my eyes fixed on Ethan's sweating forehead.
"He forgot that before I married him, I spent five years restructuring failing maritime logistics firms across the country."
