Chapter 4 - THE AUDIT OF VENGEANCE

The early morning sun did nothing to warm the frosted glass panels of the executive suite where Ethan’s family had paraded their false wealth.

Beatrice sat in her leather chair, her fingers frantically swiping across her personal banking portal as a continuous stream of red flags appeared.

"Ethan! The bank just issued an emergency foreclosure notice on our secondary real estate holdings in Chicago!" she shrieked hysterically.

"They are saying our collateral is entirely invalid because the underlying deeds belong to the Sterling Family Trust!"

"They are claiming we don't have the authority to process the regional supply contracts today!"

Ethan looked up, his bloodshot eyes wide with a desperate, primitive high-society panic as the office connectivity dropped to zero.

"She knew, Mother... she had the compliance logs the entire time we thought she was hiding behind that locked study safe," he whispered.

"She didn't just document the domestic arguments; she has initiated a total, non-negotiable clawback clause on our credit lines."

The heavy double doors of the suite were violently pushed open, and a team of six armed federal marshals stepped onto the floor.

"Ethan Vance, you are officially under arrest for corporate forgery, systematic bank fraud, and identity theft," the lead officer announced.
