Plot twist

Chapter 13 - The Foundation Grows

The leukemia foundation expanded.

We opened a center in a nearby city.

It wasn't a glamorous office.

It was a place of healing.

I dedicated myself to the logistics.

I used my analytical mind to streamline the patient intake process.

I made it faster, more efficient, and more compassionate.

People began to notice.

I wasn't just the socialite anymore.

I was a tireless leader.

I found that I was far more respected in this role than I had ever been in my old life.

I was valued for my contribution, not my position.

It was a liberating experience.

I traveled to the new center every week.

I met the families.

I saw the impact of our work.

It gave my life a purpose I hadn't known was possible.

I realized that the estate had been a cage, but the work was a bridge.

I was building a future for other people, and in doing so, I was building one for myself.

The struggle wasn't over, but it was rewarding.

And the rewards were far more satisfying than any social victory.

I had finally found my voice.

And I was going to use it for good.
