Part 3: The Boardroom Audit

The central conference room at Bennett Development was a battlefield of quiet panic at 9:00 a.m.

Richard sat at the head of the mahogany table, his grey suit looking sharp, his face fixed in a confident smile.

Margaret sat beside him, sipping tea from a porcelain cup, looking as if she had already inherited the entire empire.

"Lucas is late," Richard announced to the silent board members. "We move for an immediate administrative takeover."

"The takeover is denied, Richard," I said, stepping through the double doors before his attorney could count the votes.

I wore an immaculate black suit, my posture tall and my expression completely free of the grief they expected.

Naomi Pierce, my international compliance lawyer, walked in behind me, sliding a thick black folder across the glass.

The grand digital monitors on the wall lit up instantly, displaying forty pages of unredacted transaction logs.

It wasn't a record of property deeds or medical insurance waivers.

It was a certified forensic stream showing Richard routing corporate funds to an unlicensed medical facility in Wisconsin.

"You hired a fraudulent private nurse to poison my wife’s medication line to manufacture a premature labor."
