Part 3: The Boardroom Eviction

By 9:00 a.m. the following morning, the central administrative center at Pierce Legacy Holdings was completely surrounded.
Three plainclothes compliance investigators from the state treasury department stood rigidly by the glass elevators.
My mother sat at the head of the mahogany conference table, her expensive pearl necklace looking useless under the neon light.
Savannah stood beside her, her white dress replaced by a sharp designer suit that failed to hide her trembling hands.
"You cannot legally dissolve our parental operating proxies, Lila!" Savannah shrieked as I stepped into the room.
"The family company holds an exclusive structural waiver that protects our commercial interests from your personal drama!"
"The waiver was officially dissolved by a federal grand jury indictment at midnight, Savannah," I told her flatly.
I walked into the boardroom accompanied by Naomi Pierce, our lead systems analyst, and the senior state prosecutor.
Naomi connected her secure field tablet to the main display, illuminating forty pages of unredacted metadata.
The grand digital monitors lit up instantly, displaying the exact sequence of unauthorized wire transfers they had managed.
The files didn't detail standard vineyard maintenance or regular corporate distributions for the family network.
They showed forty separate attempts to siphon Grandma Eleanor’s medical trust funds into Savannah’s boutique accounts.

"You didn't just exclude me from the guest list at the Fairmont to protect your social image, sister," I said coldly.
"You needed me out of the room so you could finalize the asset transfer without my accounting team flagging the fraud."
