Part 2: The Misconduct Fault

Part 2: The Misconduct Fault
The thick folder Naomi placed on the linen-covered table contained the unalterable terms of our prenuptial agreement.
Daniel had signed it four months ago in a high-end restaurant, barely glancing at the legal terminology.
He had joked with his younger brother, Evan, that corporate paperwork was nothing more than women's busywork to feel important.
What his family didn't realize was that my team had inserted a multi-layered asset-protection covenant into the final draft.
The document included a strict misconduct clause covering identity theft, financial coercion, and domestic violence.
The penalty for physical violence was an immediate, total liquidation of his family's proxy shares in my commercial development firm.
"The moment your hand struck your wife's face beneath that chandelier, Daniel," Naomi stated, her voice amplified by the room's sound system.
"You triggered the immediate execution of section twelve of the forensic covenant."
Vivian Hale took a frantic step forward, her multi-karat diamond necklace clinking loudly against her designer gold gown.
Her face, usually covered in a practiced socialite smile, twisted into an ugly mask of pure corporate rage.
"This is an absolute outrage! You cannot steal our family's commercial legacy over a private domestic dispute!"
"It's not a private dispute, Mrs. Hale," the lead officer said, stepping firmly between Vivian and the steel safe.
"It is an active grand larceny investigation into your younger son's offshore gambling transfers."
I watched Daniel’s eyes dart toward the security cameras mounted above the ballroom cornices.
He knew those cameras didn't belong to the hotel; they were private digital lenses my security team had installed that morning.
Every second of his anger, every word of his threat, and the exact trajectory of his palm had been saved to a secure federal cloud server.
The illusion of the perfect Hale family wedding was dissolving into a digital paper trail right in front of their high-society friends.

"The prenuptial agreement doesn't just protect my personal stock portfolio, Daniel," I said, looking at him with a calm smile.
"It gives my compliance team full administrative authority over the secondary construction accounts you used to hide your debts."
