Chapter 9 - The Unexpected Architect

One afternoon, the warehouse foreman pulled him aside.
"You've been watching the logistics, haven't you?" the man asked.
"I have," Ryan said.
"Why?"
"Because things can be done better."
The foreman handed him a tablet.
"Prove it."
Ryan didn't hesitate.
He took the logistics data and spent the night rearranging the flow.
By morning, he presented a new model for the warehouse operations.
It cut loading time by forty percent.
The foreman stared at the screen, then at Ryan.
"Where did you learn to think like this?"
"I had to learn how to survive," Ryan said.
"Well, you're the new manager," the foreman said.
Ryan didn't smile.
He simply nodded.
He didn't want the power.
He wanted the challenge.
He wanted to see if he could build something that worked without exploiting anyone.
He began to implement the changes.
The warehouse became a model of efficiency.
People started to talk.
Rumors of a 'wizard' in the shipping sector began to spread.
But Ryan stayed in the background, a ghost of productivity.
