Chapter 4 - THE CORPORATE INTERDICTION
At exactly 9:00 AM, the central trading floor of Harrow Maritime Solutions dissolved into a state of absolute, unadulterated commercial panic.
The automated system terminals began flashing bright red compliance notifications in rapid succession, systematically blocking every transaction.
Richard Harrow sat in his high-backed leather chair, his silver hair disheveled, his fingers frantically typing bypass strings into his administrative console.
His wife, Victoria, burst through the mahogany double doors of the executive suite, her designer purse hitting the floor with a heavy, dead sound.
"Richard! The commercial banks have just executed an emergency quarantine on our primary dividend vault!" she wailed, her face pale.
"They are saying our infrastructure bonds are entirely invalid because the secondary land deeds are under an active judicial recapture order!"
"They are claiming we don't have the legal authority to sign the international cargo contracts today!"
Richard looked up, his bloodshot eyes wide with an aggressive, defensive fury as he watched his network connectivity drop to zero percent.
"It’s Martin," he whispered hoarsely, his hands dropping uselessly onto the mahogany desk. "He didn't just take his daughter out of our house last night... he was the anonymous compliance auditor who initiated the federal trade investigation three months ago."
"He has been reading our digital ledger entries since the day the trust funds were first shifted into our corporate account."
The heavy double doors were violently pushed open, and I walked through the threshold, my posture perfectly rigid, my tailored charcoal wool power suit catching the light.
Behind me walked Blanca, flanked by six armed federal marshals whose gold shields gleamed brilliantly under the office chandeliers.
