Chapter 3 - The Staged Intervention

The locksmith had already gathered his tools and vanished down the driveway, realizing he had just participated in a domestic ambush.

Patricia didn't stop her theatrical performance; she sank onto my velvet sofa, her hands pressing against her face as she forced a series of dramatic, tearful sobs.

"Harrison, look at her!" she wailed, her voice echoing off the high ceilings. "She's completely unstable! She's retaliating because of the settlement terms!"

"The settlement terms were drafted under a fraudulent asset index, Patricia," I said, sliding a thick manila folder across the kitchen counter.

Inside the folder lay the original corporate foundation papers from my late father's shipping logistics network—papers Harrison had spent three years trying to legally merge into his private offshore accounts.

He had convinced me during our second year of marriage that creating a secondary asset pool in the Cayman Islands was a standard protocol for tax optimization.

But the moment the forensic accountants reviewed the data logs at midnight, the true blueprint of the deception was laid bare.

The $12 million in offshore capital didn't belong to the Voss family corporation.

It was tied directly to my father's original legacy shares, shares Harrison had systematically tried to transfer using a forged signature while I was recovering from medical treatment last winter.

"You didn't want the divorce to be easy, Harrison," I said, stepping closer to the counter. "Because you knew that the moment a judge looked at the raw data, your little multi-million-dollar secret would be exposed to the state tax commission."
