Chapter 5 - The Boston Audit

Before Theodore could speak, Dominic pulled a secure tablet from his coat and pressed a single icon.

The high-definition digital screens inside the chapel—normally used to display church announcements and choir schedules—flashed bright red.

Live financial ledger documents populated the displays, showing the complete paper trail of the Ashford Foundation's illegal liquidation of the Vance historical trust.

"Thirty years ago," Dominic announced, his voice echoing through the silent sanctuary, "the Ashford family forged the signature on Helena Vance's probate documents."

"They used her stolen estate as collateral to build their corporate empire."

"And today, my cousin Cora came here to restore her family's original veil—unknowingly bringing the master verification key straight into your hands."

The senators in the second row stood up, their expressions shifting from polite curiosity to pure, cold horror as federal compliance notices began flashing across the chapel screens.

Theodore turned to his mother, his voice cracking into a desperate, pathetic scream. "Mom! What did you do? You told me her family was completely dead! You told me there were no legal heirs!"

"She was nobody!" Marguerite shrieked, her aristocratic facade completely shattering as she pointed a trembling, manicured finger at me. "She was just an orphan working in a dusty restoration shop!"

"She is the primary trustee of the Vance estate, Marguerite," Dominic said smoothly, stepping in front of me like an iron wall.

"And as of 12:00 PM today, your family’s asset freeze has officially been executed."
