Chapter 4 - THE CORPORATE INTERDICTION

At exactly 9:00 AM on Monday morning, the central trading floor of Whitfield Strategic Systems dissolved into a state of absolute, unadulterated panic.

The automated terminal screens began flashing bright red compliance quarantine warnings, systematically blocking every commercial line of credit registered to the board.

Julian Vance sat in his high-backed leather chair in the penthouse suite, his custom suit immaculate, his hands trembling as his phone buzzed with relentless alerts.

His primary secretary, Alyssa, burst through the mahogany double doors, her face a pale mask of raw high-society terror as she slammed a tablet onto his desk.

"Julian! The clearing house just executed an emergency freeze on our offshore dividend accounts!" she shrieked, her voice cracking in panic.

"They are saying our corporate guarantees are entirely invalid because the primary intellectual property rights belong to a restricted family trust!"

"They are claiming we don't have the legal authority to sign the merger documents today!"

Julian looked up, his bloodshot eyes wide with an aggressive, defensive fury as he watched his network connectivity indicators drop to zero percent.

"That's impossible; I paid the clinic administrators to delete the backup files three years ago!" he roared, slamming his fist onto the mahogany.

"The clinic administrators were arrested at their private residences four hours ago, Julian," a calm, freezing voice announced from the entryway.

I walked through the threshold, my worn traveling clothes replaced by an immaculate, tailored charcoal wool power suit, my posture perfectly rigid.

Behind me walked Arthur, flanked by six armed federal marshals whose gold shields gleamed brilliantly under the blinding LED chandeliers.

"The registry is permanently closed, Julian," I said, my voice cutting through his screaming register like a razor-sharp steel blade.

"And your ambition is no longer required in this building."
