While Grant Mercer and his mistress were frantically calling their defense attorneys, Nathan's forensic accounting team was executing a systematic raid on their servers.
Inside my private VIP recovery suite at Walter Reed, the rhythmic, high-pitched beeping of the fetal monitor was the only sound.
Dr. Nora Lee, a senior military obstetrician, gently adjusted the ultrasound probe, her eyes scanning the monitor with a quiet, intense focus.

"The placental lining absorbed the impact of the fall, but your blood pressure is dangerously elevated and requires absolute clinical rest."
"We are keeping you under a level-four security lock until the grand jury indictment is officially unsealed tomorrow morning," she added.
"My brother didn't just audit their public real estate loans, Nora," I said, my voice carrying a quiet, unyielding authority.
"He targeted the secondary, offshore procurement network they used to fund the Mercer development projects."
