Chapter 4 - THE NETWORK OF REVERSAL

The background of the grand dining hall instantly erupted into a chaotic, screaming battlefield as the reality of the image on the screen settled over the investors.

Julian Vance spun around to face his wife, his face contorted into a monstrous, angry snarl as he realized his own name was on the line.

"What did you do, Victoria?" Julian roared, his hands waving frantically as his mother tried to pull him back from the table.

"You told me the child was simply receiving a standard medical checkup!"

"You told me her mother had authorized the treatment!"

"She is lying to you, Julian," I said, stepping closer to the mahogany table, my fingers tapping the screen of the recording smartphone.

"Your wife didn't just coordinate the assault on Lily; she systematically siphoned four million dollars from our employee retirement fund to pay Dr. Sterling for the forged DNA documents."

"And the genetic trust challenge you were preparing to file tomorrow morning?" I added, looking directly into Victoria's wide, terrified eyes.

"The federal marshals have already seized the original database from the Sterling Private Clinic."

My older brother, Captain Marcus Bennett of the Financial Crimes Division, stepped through the shattered door frame, flanked by four armed officers.

"Federal agents! Nobody move!" Marcus commanded, his voice carrying the absolute, military authority of a federal raid.

Victoria backed away toward the window, her hands shaking violently as the officers formed an impenetrable wall around the dining table.

"This is an absolute misunderstanding, Marcus!" Victoria stammered, her aristocratic voice cracking under the sudden, devastating weight of her public exposure.

"We were only trying to protect the family trust from an unstable mother!"

"The only thing being protected tonight is the integrity of my sister's legacy, Victoria," Marcus said coldly, displaying the steel handcuffs in his hand.

"And by tomorrow morning, your name will be permanently erased from this city's registries."
