PART 9: THE BOARDROOM TERMINATION

Back at the primary office complex, the board of directors for Whitmore Holdings had completely disintegrated into a state of panic.
The remaining minority stakeholders sat in a tense semi-circle inside the main boardroom, their expressions pale as they watched the red graphs on the projection screens tracking the total collapse of their public stock valuation. The market capitalization had plunged 70% following the news of the forensic audit.
Claire entered the room through a side door, her hands trembling as she approached the long glass table.
"We can't clear the afternoon payroll for the regional branches, David," Claire told the chief operating officer. "The bank says the primary operating accounts are completely locked under a state receivership lien. My boutique credit line has been deleted."
The main double doors of the boardroom swung open, and I walked inside, flanked by four state receivership managers. I wore a flawlessly tailored slate-grey suit, my posture perfectly straight, my eyes carrying the absolute authority of a woman who held every single master password to their survival.
"Natalie!" Claire cried out, stepping forward defensively. "Please... you can't destroy the entire family name over a payroll dispute! My children's private school tuition is tied directly to the quarterly dividend distribution!"
I didn't stop walking until I reached the head of the table. I didn't look at my sister with anger or satisfaction; I looked at her with the cold detachment of an auditor reviewing a fraudulent expense report.
"Your children's luxury lifestyle was an illusion built on my stolen salary, Claire," I said, my voice dropping into a low, level baritone that silenced the entire room. "Every single vacation you posted on social media while calling me dramatic was funded by the money that should have been securing Emma's medical and educational needs."

"We didn't know the exact corporate structure!" Claire stammered, her lower lip trembling.
"You knew enough to stay silent when your mother told me I was nothing but an employee in this family," I replied, my micro-expressions turning into pure ice. "The state receivership has just voted to cancel all family dividend distributions permanently. Your access is revoked."
