PART 10: THE LEGACY OF STEEL

PART 10: THE LEGACY OF STEEL

Five years passed like a golden dream.

The private sanctuary in USA had expanded into a sprawling family compound surrounded by ancient trees, high security gates, and the constant sound of children laughing.

Sofia was now six years old, a brilliant, fearless girl who rode horses with her father and played chess with her mother.

Lucas was three, a dark-haired boy who followed his older sister everywhere she went.

On a warm Sunday afternoon, the family gathered in the gardens for Sofia’s birthday celebration.

There were no business partners present. There were no politicians or corporate rivals.

Only the loyal staff who had stood by them through every storm, and the peaceful quiet of a life hard-won.

Camila stood by the edge of the reflecting pool, watching Alejandro teach Sofia how to hold a wooden training bow.

His large, scarred hands gently guided their daughter’s small fingers on the bowstring.

"Keep your eyes on the target, mi vida," Alejandro murmured patiently. "Never look at the distractions around you. Only the target."

Sofia released the string.

The rubber-tipped arrow flew across the grass, striking the dead center of the painted target.

She cheered, jumping into her father’s arms.

Alejandro lifted her effortlessly, kissing her cheek before looking across the grass toward Camila.

His gaze held the same fierce, unwavering devotion that had saved her life on that fateful Tuesday night so many years ago.

Camila walked over to them, wrapping her arms around both her husband and her daughter.

"You're spoiling her," she teased softly.

"I am preparing her," Alejandro corrected, smiling down at his wife. "She is going to inherit your brain. She needs to know how to defend it."

Camila rested her head against his chest, listening to the steady, powerful rhythm of his heart.

She thought of the seventeen unanswered calls that had once broken her world into pieces.

She realized now that those failures had not been a tragedy—they had been a liberation.

They had cleared away the cowardice and deception of her old life, leaving room for a man of absolute steel to build a fortress around her heart.

The gate at the end of the driveway clicked shut, locking automatically as the evening shadows stretched across the lawn.

Outside the stone walls, the world would always have its storms, its traitors, and its conflicts.

But inside the sanctuary, the family stood unbreakable.

The empire was secure.
