PART 13: THE LISBON ALLIANCE

The private jet touched down in Lisbon under a gray, heavy sky.

Alejandro had refused to let Camila travel alone, leaving his most trusted lieutenants to guard the children back in Viet Tri.

They drove in an armored SUV toward a secluded estate on the cliffs overlooking the Atlantic.

This was the neutral ground of the European underground—a sanctuary governed by old laws that even the Varga family dared not break.

The gates opened slowly, revealing a centuries-old villa made of pale stone.

Waiting for them on the terrace was Elena Varga.

She was young, sharp-featured, and wore an immaculate white suit that contrasted sharply with the dark ocean behind her.

"Alejandro," Elena smiled, her voice laced with ice.

"And the legendary Camila."

"You have five minutes to pull the virus from my servers, Elena," Camila said, ignoring the pleasantries as she stepped onto the terrace.

Elena laughed, taking a slow sip of her espresso.

"You think you hold the cards because you cleaned up Alejandro's money? The financial world doesn't care about your clean ledgers."

"They care about stability."

"And right now, your network is bleeding forty million dollars a day."

Alejandro stepped forward, his massive frame casting a long shadow over the table.

"I buried your father, Elena," he said, his voice entirely devoid of emotion.

"Don't make me finish the lineage."

Elena’s smile faltered, just for a second.

"My father was old and careless," she snapped.

"I have alliances you can't even fathom."

"Like Mateo?" Camila asked smoothly.

Elena went silent, her eyes narrowing.

Camila pulled a tablet from her bag and slid it across the table.

"We intercepted the wire transfers you sent to Mateo's defense attorneys last month," Camila explained.

"You used him to get the legacy access codes to our old New York servers."

"But Mateo didn't know that I changed those codes six months ago."

Camila leaned in close, her eyes locked onto Elena’s.

"The virus you think is destroying my network is actually downloading every asset your syndicate has hidden in the Swiss banking system."

"You didn't trap me, Elena."

"I let you into my house so I could see where your money lives."
