PART 12: THE DIGITAL EMBARGO

By dawn, the financial world felt the first tremor of a coordinated assault.
Camila’s global logistics network experienced a massive, simultaneous denial-of-service attack across three continents.
Shipping manifests were corrupted, cargo ships were stalled outside international ports, and the company's stock price began a sharp, manufactured descent.
In the corporate command center of the estate, Camila stood before a wall of monitors.
Her elite tech team was working frantically, but the virus was adaptive.
"It's a polymorphic code," her lead analyst explained, his face dripping with sweat.
"Every time we patch a breach, it rewrites itself using our own security protocols."
Camila looked at the code scrolling across the screen.
It felt familiar.
It had the same fingerprints as the system Julian Vance had used, but it was much more sophisticated.
"They’re using a backdoor in our automated billing system," Camila realized aloud.
"An access point created during the merger three years ago."
She pushed the analyst out of the seat and took over the terminal herself.
"Alejandro," she called out over the comms.
"I need the original acquisition files from the New York office."
"They're encrypted in the vault," Alejandro replied from the security bunker downstairs.
"Break the encryption," she said coldly.
"Whoever is doing this didn't just buy our debt—they bought someone who helped us build the network."
As she traced the digital signatures, a single IP address emerged from the noise.
It was routing through a secure server located in a private villa in Monaco.
The registered owner of that server was a name Camila had hoped she would never see again.
Elena Varga.
The daughter of the man Alejandro had replaced.
Suddenly, a message flashed across Camila’s center screen, overriding all security walls.
You have twenty-four hours to return the keys to the Mediterranean routes, Camila.
Or we publish the private medical and security records of your children.
Camila’s breath hitched, but her hands did not shake.
She leaned into the microphone.

"Trace it," she commanded her team.
"And call the pilot. We are going to Europe."
