Chapter 4 - SPENCER’S WRATH

Detective Miller escorted Spencer down the hallway toward the holding room. Spencer moved with a deliberate, lethal calmness that unsettled even the seasoned police officer. When the officer opened the door, Spencer stepped into the room.
Thomas was pacing, looking annoyed rather than remorseful. Amanda was crying into a tissue. Travis and Megan were sitting in the corner, holding hands and looking like terrified children.
When Thomas saw Spencer, he scoffed. “Spencer. Finally. Tell these rent-a-cops to let us go. Your wife is having a postpartum psychotic break. We were just trying to help you. You can’t handle three kids.”
Spencer didn't shout. He didn't raise his hands. He simply walked right up to Thomas, stopping mere inches from his face.
“You put your hands on my wife,” Spencer said, his voice a low, vibrating growl that seemed to rattle the windows. “You hit a woman who had just been sliced open to bring my children into this world. And you tried to steal my son.”
“It’s not stealing!” Megan piped up from the corner, her voice shrill and defensive. “It’s keeping it in the family! You have three! It’s not fair! Travis deserves to be a father!”
Spencer turned his cold gaze to Megan. “You think a baby is a consolation prize? You think my son is a piece of property you can just claim because your own biology failed you? You are completely out of your minds.”
“We had a nursery set up,” Travis muttered defensively. “We painted it blue. We bought a crib. Mom and Dad said Carla would eventually see reason.”
Spencer looked at Amanda, who couldn't even meet his eyes. The depth of their delusion was staggering. They had created an entirely fabricated reality where ripping a newborn from its mother was a logical, loving act of family unity. They had bought furniture for a baby they intended to steal.
“Listen to me very carefully,” Spencer said, turning back to Thomas. “You are all going to jail. And when you get out, if you ever come within a hundred miles of my wife or my children, I won't call the police. I will end you.”

Spencer turned on his heel and walked out, leaving the toxic remnants of Carla’s family to face the wrath of the Phoenix Police Department. By midnight, Thomas was formally charged with assault and attempted kidnapping. Travis and Megan were charged as accessories and for possession of forged legal documents. Amanda was held for questioning.
The Osborn family, built on decades of toxic entitlement and silence, had finally imploded.
