PART 11: THE SECOND KEY

PART 11: THE SECOND KEY
The spring of 2026 transformed into a brilliant, warm summer.
Mateo was now crawling, his bright hazel eyes reflecting his father's features completely.
One Tuesday evening, Alejandro’s older brother, Julian—who had been estranged from the family for ten years—showed up at our porch.
He carried an old, dust-covered wooden box in his hands.
"Alejandro," Julian said as my husband opened the door. "Mother forgot about this when the feds seized the vault."
Alejandro stepped back, allowing his brother inside. "What is it, Julian?"
Julian opened the lid, revealing an old silver key and a legal land deed dated 1998.
"Before our father died, he purchased a massive tract of coastal land along the northern bay," Julian explained, sitting at our wooden table. "He registered it under my name and yours before Victoria could get her hands on it. It was never part of the corporate infrastructure."
Alejandro touched the cold silver metal of the key, his eyes widening. "The northern bay plot?"
"It’s worth millions now, brother," Julian smiled gently, placing a hand on Alejandro’s shoulder. "But more importantly, it's completely clean. No debt. No fraud. Just a gift from a father who knew his family would one day destroy itself."

Alejandro looked at me, a deep emotion washing over his face.
"We can build the foundation now, Meline," he whispered. "The one we always dreamed of."
