Upon our return from Switzerland, the global expansion of Kingsley Financial commenced with an aggressive, silent efficiency. Using the Geneva reserve as our hidden collateral, we systematically launched hostile takeovers against the three primary hedge funds that had secretly funded Montgomery’s corporate coup a year prior.

By October, all three competitor firms had been pushed into involuntary bankruptcy, their executive boards dissolved, and their remaining commercial assets absorbed directly into the Kingsley Family Trust. The entire financial district of Chicago had realized that crossing the Kingsley name didn't just result in a lawsuit—it resulted in complete financial liquidation.

I stood on the balcony of our newly acquired penthouse downtown, watching the winter snow begin to fall over the city streets. The air was freezing, but inside our home, the warmth was absolute.

Noah was sitting by the grand fireplace, reading a book with his tutor, his face peaceful and secure. Damian walked out onto the balcony, wrapping a heavy cashmere shawl around my shoulders to protect me from the cold.

"It’s a clean audit, Damian," I smiled, leaning my head gently against his arm. "We’ve removed every single piece of decay from our house. Now, the foundation is perfect."
